We brought our favorite art books and cookbooks to our home in the historic district. We asked Michael to create custom built-in bookshelves with a hidden drawer and a work nook, working from our sketches and photos. The end result is beautiful, functional, and period correct. We love it!
The fireplace in our old home badly needed an upgrade. We want to reflect Florida in the 1890's and match our historic trim. My husband pulled ideas from magazines and websites. We put Mr. Warren's woodworking skills to work and the end result is terrific.
The badly weathered doors hanging on our non-historic garage in the Historic District were due for repair. We handled the permits and Michael Warren hand-built and installed the doors from slabs of wood. They are beautiful.
Michael's comment: One of two floating eyebrow tables built as bedside tables. Each seems to float above the floor. Tables are elliptical with a single drawer made of mahogany and maple with hand cut joinery.
Michael's comment: The client desired a dramatic pergola-style entryway that provided privacy as well as glimpse into the classic design style and details seen throughout the property. The circular door opening reveals a courtyard, oversized front door, and Chippendale-style railing on the front porch.
Michael's comment: I built this large, rugged, heavy duty woodworker's toolbox for myself. I needed a place to easily store hundreds of tools and devices, all of the odds and ends that a woodworker accumulates over a lifetime of unique client work.
Our design intention was to continue a nautical theme throughout our entire historic home inside and out, including these handmade bronze back porch screens. Each panel is removable for screen cleaning and frame painting.
